Burcu Kaleoğlu Uçaner is a Lecturer at Gaziantep University, where she has held positions at the European Union Implementation and Research Center and the President's Office. She has also taught at the University of California, San Diego (2015) and Bilkent University (2002-2007).
- Education: Licence in Political Science and Public Administration from Bilkent University (2002-2007) with a full scholarship; MA (2008-2009) and PhD (2012-present) in International Relations from Maastricht University and Middle East Technical University, respectively.
Her research spans International Relations, European Studies, and Historical Sociology, focusing on topics such as European identity formation, EU-Turkiye relations, and Ottoman/Turkish history. Her publications include journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings analyzing identity politics, nation-state formation, and Middle Eastern historical dynamics.
Recent publications highlight her work on the social construction of political heroes in the Middle East, European integration challenges, and EU enlargement policies. These contributions reflect interdisciplinary approaches combining historical analysis with political theory.
