Bryon Moraski is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His work focuses on comparative political institutions, electoral systems, and authoritarian regimes, particularly in Russia and Ukraine. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa (2001).
Research Interests:
Moraski examines electoral system reforms and their impacts on political behavior in diverging regime types. His book Party Politics in Russia and Ukraine (2022) analyzes electoral changes in authoritarian and democratic contexts. Ongoing research explores European responses to Russian aggression via the Council of Europe’s post-Crimea policies. Key themes include authoritarian resurgence, subnational governance, and international organization dynamics.
Teaching:
Courses include Russian foreign policy, comparative political analysis, and electoral systems across regions. Recent courses taught in 2025 include Russian Foreign Policy and Introduction to Comparative Political Analysis.
