Brynn Welch is a **Professor of Philosophy** at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she also serves as an Equity Advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a BA from Davidson College and an MA/PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on applied ethics, social/political philosophy, and the ethics of children’s literature, particularly addressing representation of marginalized groups. She has taught courses on contemporary moral issues, bioethics, family ethics, and social justice movements. Welch has received notable awards for teaching excellence, including the UAB Dean’s Award and the Outstanding Faculty Award.
