Bryan Myles

Bryan Myles is a Lecturer in the Department of Indigenous Studies at Simon Fraser University (SFU), where he has taught since 2018. He holds a PhD in Communications, Art, and Technology from SFU (2022), an MA in Anthropology from Carleton University (2008), and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Regina (2006). His research focuses on artistic expressions of Coastal First Peoples, Indigenous heritage stewardship, and intersections of new media with cultural heritage.

Teaching specialties include introductory Indigenous Studies, Indigenous art, digital heritage, and cultural stewardship. His courses for 2025 include INDG 101, INDG 201W, and INDG 305 (Summer 2025), and INDG 101 D900 and INDG 286 B900 (Fall 2025).

Research emphasizes Haida cultural artifacts and the agency of material objects in Indigenous contexts. Recent work explores digital preservation and representation of Indigenous cultural patrimony.
