Bryan Gatzke is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at Mount Mercy University, affiliated with the Department of Exercise Science within the Natural and Applied Sciences school. He holds a PhD in Human and Sport Performance from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, an MS in Human and Sport Performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a BS in Fitness Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

His research focuses on pelvis/core musculature contributions to power in anaerobic athletes, nutritional habits of in-season wrestlers/volleyball players, fatigue effects on jumping performance, and increasing research in under-resourced populations. He teaches courses including Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, and Evidence-Based Practice. Bryan is certified as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (NSCA) and holds Corrective Exercise/Performance Enhancement Specialist certifications (NASM).
Teaching/Appointments: Full-time faculty since 2016, previously served as Sport Performance Coach during graduate studies.
Labs/Teams: Engages in applied sport science research collaborations with athletic programs.
