Bruno Ehrler

Bruno Ehrler is a Professor and Group Leader of the Hybrid Solar Cells group at AMOLF in Amsterdam since 2014, holding an honorary professorship at the University of Groningen since 2020. Since 2024, he has served as head of the LMPV-Sustainable Energy Materials Department at AMOLF.

His academic journey includes an MSci in Physics from the University of London (Queen Mary) studying micro-mechanics under Professor David Dunstan, a PhD from the University of Cambridge under Professor Neil Greenham on hybrid solar cells, and postdoctoral work with Professor Sir Richard Friend at Cambridge University.

Ehrler's research centers on Photovoltaics and Perovskite Solar Cells, with deep expertise in Materials Science for sustainable energy. His group investigates fundamental perovskite properties and device applications, including quantum dots, doped metal oxides, singlet fission photovoltaics, and artificial synapses from halide perovskites.
