Dr. Dashi earned her degree in Letters in 1991 with a thesis in Glottology under Walter Belardi. From 1992 to 2020, she served as a native Albanian language lecturer, and has taught Albanian language courses at Sapienza's Faculty of Letters and Philosophy. Since 2001, she has been an active member of the Departmental Center for Albanian Studies, where she has collaborated with visits by Albanian political leaders including the President of Albania and the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament.
Her research spans contemporary literature, philology, and linguistics with particular focus on lexicon, morphology, and linguistic interference. She has published four significant monographs: two philological studies on Ismail Kadare's works, a linguistic study on Italianisms in Albanian (with a preface by Luca Serianni), and a historical study of Albanian language and literature discipline at Sapienza University. Her scholarly articles appear primarily in Class A journals and international publications.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a consistent scholarly trajectory examining linguistic calques, Italian influences on Albanian language, and literary analysis of prominent Albanian authors including Ismail Kadare, Ernest Koliqi, and Musine Kokalari. Her work increasingly focuses on specialized linguistic phenomena while maintaining connections to broader literary and cultural contexts, with recent publications exploring Dante's Paradiso translations in Albanian and Italian influence on Albanian legal terminology.
Professor Dashi has organized and collaborated on numerous conferences featuring Albanian scholars in Italy, demonstrating her commitment to fostering academic exchange between Italian and Albanian academic communities. Her rigorous methodology incorporates meticulous bibliographic research across a diverse range of topics within Albanian studies.
