Brunella Bruno is a tenured researcher at Bocconi University's Finance Department. She holds the national scientific habilitation (ASN) as Full Professor in Financial Markets and is affiliated with the Bocconi Lab for European Studies (BLEST), Baffi Centre, and the Bocconi Institute for European Policy Making (IEP). Since 2017, she has served on the European Parliament’s Expert Panel on Banking Supervision. She has held visiting roles at the University of Oxford and Bangor University.
Research Focus: Her work centers on empirical banking, regulatory impacts on bank behavior, credit risk management, and emerging climate-related financial risks. Recent studies explore how banks adapt to climate transition risks and post-pandemic regulatory measures.
Publications & Policy Contributions: Key analyses include reports for the European Parliament on banking union effectiveness, SSM priorities, and ECB supervision in Bulgaria/Croatia. Her academic work appears in journals like Journal of Financial Intermediation and Economic Policy.
Awards: Recognized with the ASN Full Professorship in 2020.
Teaching: Leads undergraduate courses on Financial Institutions Management, Alternative Investments (part of the CIVICA Engage Track), and co-teaches International Banking.
