Bruce Bimber

Bruce Bimber is a Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), with affiliations in the Department of Communication and the Center for Information Technology and Society (CITS), which he founded in 1999. He also holds a courtesy appointment with the Center for Responsible Machine Learning. His research focuses on political communication, digital media, and collective action, examining how technology shapes political behavior and organization. Bimber earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from MIT and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford. He has held positions at RAND Corporation and served as a Fellow at prominent institutions like the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.
