Brooks Robertson is Assistant Professor of Guitar at Berklee College of Music, Boston, where he teaches fingerstyle guitar technique and contemporary styles. A 2018 summa cum laude graduate of Berklee’s Bachelor of Music in Professional Music program, he focuses on contemporary writing & production, music business, and jazz & popular music theory. Robertson is internationally acclaimed for blending country rhythms, jazz harmony, and funky licks into a distinctive solo acoustic style.

Research & Performance Focus:
Robertson’s work centers on fingerstyle guitar innovation, merging traditional Travis-picking with modern jazz harmony and percussive techniques. He performs worldwide, appearing at major festivals including Montreal Jazz Festival, NAMM Show, and Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention.
Teaching & Outreach:
In addition to his Berklee courses, Robertson offers online masterclasses via TrueFire and has taught at Tommy Emmanuel’s Guitar Camps, Crown of the Continent Guitar Festival, and Rocky Mountain Guitar Camp. His instructional publications include “Fingerstyle Rolls: Banjo Rolls for Fingerstyle Guitar” (2021) and “Travis-Picking Bootcamp” (2020).
