معرفی
Brooke S. Lustig is a Lecturer in Material & Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at San Jose State University (SJSU), and an Adjunct Professor in both departments. She holds a PhD from the University of California, Santa Cruz (1987). Her research focuses on protein structure, RNA-protein interactions, computational modeling, and biophysical chemistry. Key contributions include studies on conformational switches in proteins, statistical potentials for RNA-protein interactions, and solvent accessibility prediction using logistic regression.
Research activities have been supported by grants such as the NSF MRI Award (2016-2019) for HPC infrastructure and a CSU General Research Grant (2009). She has advised over a dozen graduate students on topics like SIRT1 protein dynamics and RNA-protein statistical potentials. Her work integrates computational methods with experimental data to advance structural and molecular biology.
Publications span biochemistry, biophysics, and computational biology, with recent work emphasizing protein structural switches and RNA-protein interaction modeling. Collaborations include studies on viral TAR RNA-Tat peptide interactions and enzyme function prediction.
