Brittany Travers

Brittany Travers is Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at UW-Madison. She researches motor challenges in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), using neuroimaging and video-game interventions to improve balance and daily living skills. Her NIH-funded work has demonstrated links between brainstem white matter integrity and motor difficulties in ASD.

Research employs MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, and biofeedback-based tools to map sensorimotor correlates. Recent studies examine gait variability, cerebellar networks, and ADHD comorbidity in autistic youth. She developed a video-game balance training protocol showing measurable clinical benefits.

Honors include the INSAR Young Investigator Award (2016) and WARF Innovation finalist (2019). Media outlets spotlighted her work on video-game interventions for autistic children.
