Dr. Brittany S. Hull is a Senior Lecturer in the University Writing Program at Johns Hopkins University. An interdisciplinary scholar from Chester, Pennsylvania, she earned her PhD in Composition and Applied Linguistics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her research and teaching focus on amplifying marginalized voices in academic discourse.
Her scholarly work critically examines Black women's language practices, Black girl literacy development, and the experiences of Black women educators in Composition & Rhetoric. She actively challenges sociopolitical standards in writing pedagogy, encouraging students to bring their authentic linguistic identities into academic work.
