Brittany Murray is an Assistant Professor of French at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She holds a PhD in French and Francophone Studies from Northwestern University (2016) and a BA in French and Comparative Literature from Vanderbilt University. Her research focuses on 20th/21st century French culture, with specialties in gender studies, migration policy, and contemporary literature/film.
Research Projects:
- Current book project: 1970s France's economic/political struggles and artistic creativity
- Upcoming monograph: Allegory vs empathy in French intercultural cinema
Recent Work: Published analysis linking 1970s French sci-fi to labor crises. Co-edited volume on 2000s French feminist movements.
