Brittany Morey

Brittany Morey is an Associate Professor at the University of California, Irvine in the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health, Department of Health, Society, & Behavior. She holds a PhD and MPH in Community Health Sciences from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health (2017, 2011). Her research examines how structural racism, neighborhood environments, and immigration policies shape racial/ethnic health inequities, particularly for AAPI communities.

Morey's recent work focuses on social determinants of cardiovascular health in Asian Americans, validation of neighborhood-level sociocultural measures, and environmental justice in Boyle Heights. She serves as a co-investigator on NIH grants related to breast cancer disparities and respiratory health in AAPI populations. Her CAPIWAVES project, conducted with the NHPI Data Policy Lab, revealed severe mental health and economic impacts of the pandemic on Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.
