Britta Phillips

Britta Phillips is a Visiting Professor at the Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA), specializing in music composition and performance. She is part of the duo Dean & Britta, who will be visiting during the summer 2024 residency in July. Her career spans diverse roles, including film scoring, rock band collaborations, and solo work.

Britta’s research interests focus on the intersection of music composition with film and live multimedia performance. Notable collaborations include composing for Noah Baumbach’s *Mistress America* (2015) and Olivier Assayas’ *Irma Vep* series, as well as the Warhol-inspired *13 Most Beautiful: Songs for Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests*. Her solo album *Luck or Magic* (2018) and contributions to bands like Luna and Belltower further highlight her creative range.

As part of Dean & Britta, the duo has released four full-length albums and is recognized for bridging experimental and mainstream music.
