Britt Laugesen is an Associate Professor of Nursing Science at Aalborg University, affiliated with the Department of Clinical Medicine within The Faculty of Medicine. She holds positions at Aalborg University Hospital and collaborates with the Center for Clinical Guidelines and The Clinical Nursing Research Unit. Her research focuses on nursing care quality, ADHD in pediatric populations, and clinical practice improvements. She earned her PhD in 2017 with a thesis on ADHD in children, emphasizing everyday life challenges and parental experiences.
Her work spans projects like interventions for bladder cancer continuity of care (2021–2023) and managing ADHD comorbidities in adolescents (2017–2020). Recent studies address missed nursing care causes, pandemic-era nurse preparedness, and cerebral palsy physical activity measurement. She contributes to nursing education frameworks and healthcare quality improvement tools.
Key publications include work on fundamental care assessment tools, scoping reviews on nursing education, and qualitative analyses of healthcare challenges. Her research bridges clinical practice gaps with evidence-based solutions.
