Britt Bousman is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Texas State University, with a focus on Stone Age archaeology, Southern Plains archaeology, and geoarchaeology. He serves as an Honorary Professor of International Studies and has led significant projects such as the Modder River Paleontological and Archaeological Project in South Africa and the Zeekoe Valley GIS Study. His research spans hunter-gatherer technological organization and paleoenvironmental analysis.

Research Interests: Bousman investigates archaeological site formation processes, climate change impacts on prehistoric societies, and technological evolution in both African Stone Age and Southern Plains contexts. His work integrates geochronology, sedimentology, and artifact analysis to reconstruct human-environment interactions.
Scientific Contributions: He has co-authored pivotal studies on Later Stone Age sites in South Africa and edited key volumes for the Bulletin of the Texas Archaeological Society. His recent projects model chimpanzee tool use at Fongoli, Senegal, to understand early hominin behavior.
Awards & Affiliations: Bousman is a Fellow of the Texas Archaeological Society (2013) and the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. He co-founded the Center for Archaeological Studies at Texas State and served as Editor of the Bulletin of the Texas Archaeological Society (2018-2019).
