Brita Lotsberg Bryn is an Associate Professor in Russian literature at the Department of Foreign Languages of the University of Bergen. Her research focuses on Russian literature, cultural studies, and literary analysis, with particular emphasis on themes such as Soviet studies, railway imagery in literature, and post-war narratives. She is affiliated with research groups including Research Group Literature and Science and Research Group The Borders of Europe.
Her work explores topics like cultural propaganda, the role of trains as cultural topos, and the interplay between literature and film. She has presented lectures on subjects ranging from Boris Pasternak’s poetic evolution to the poetics of return in Russian cinema. Recent contributions include analyses of post-war visions, migration narratives in Russian creative writing, and the semiotics of railway spaces in Soviet and post-Soviet contexts.
