Brice Trouillet

Brice Trouillet is an Associate Professor at the University of Nantes, France, since 2007. He is affiliated with the LETG laboratory, where he has served as deputy director since 2015, and collaborates with the IUML consortium dedicated to marine and coastal research in Nantes.

His research investigates the relationships between humans and maritime spaces through science and technology studies (STS) and critical approaches. He analyzes fisheries in marine spatial planning, emphasizing how power dynamics and knowledge systems interact with geotechnological devices such as data, planning documents, and mapping tools to shape 'socio-technical agencements' that mediate human-marine environment interactions.

Brice has led 5 research grants as principal investigator and contributed to 11 additional programs as a participant or work package leader. His work spans Europe and extends to Canada, Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, Chile, and Indonesia, with study sites in Senegal, Cabo Verde, and Brazil. During 2015–2016, he completed a sabbatical at the TBTI headquarters at Memorial University, Canada.

He integrates interdisciplinary methodologies to address ecosystem dynamics, policy governance, and socio-technical challenges in coastal and marine systems.
