Briar Dickey is a researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, affiliated with the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences and Solvay Business School and the Communication Sciences department. They are active in the ECHO: Media, Culture & Politics Research Group and the Centre for the study of Democracy, Signification and Resistance.
Their research focuses on gender politics, far-right discourses, and digital media, particularly analyzing transphobic narratives in online movements and the intersection of homonationalism with religious and LGBTQ+ identities. They employ critical theory and discourse analysis frameworks.
