Brian Payne serves as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Old Dominion University, where he is tenured as Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice. An internationally recognized criminologist, he has authored over 160 publications on white-collar crime and cybersecurity. His leadership includes developing interdisciplinary schools in Cybersecurity and Data Science.
Payne has secured over $11 million in research funding and previously edited the American Journal of Criminal Justice. As past president of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, he promotes innovative approaches to criminal justice pedagogy.
