Dr Brian Moore is a lecturer, researcher, and registered psychologist at Charles Sturt University, actively contributing to the fields of mental health, wellbeing, and applied psychology. He is affiliated with the School of Psychology within the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences, and serves as co-chair of Wellbeing and Mental Health Research Australia. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the School Counsellor and Psychology Association NSW and a Special Advisory Group member for UNESCO’s International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement.

Dr Moore’s research focuses on youth mental health, resilience, and school-based psychosocial interventions, particularly through martial arts training and cooperative gaming. His work aims to improve mental health outcomes in adolescents and pre-service teachers, addressing issues like bullying, conflict, and workforce retention in regional areas. He has led international collaborations, including a study in Nepal and regional India, translating interventions across cultural contexts.
His recent publications (2023–2024) reflect a strong trend in applying martial arts and physical activity as tools for mental health promotion across age groups—from adolescents to older adults. His research combines randomized controlled trials, scoping reviews, and feasibility studies, often in educational settings, highlighting interdisciplinary collaboration in psychology, education, and public health.
