معرفی
Dr. Brian J. Ingram serves as Group Leader of the Materials and Device Evaluation Group and Director of the Center for Steel Electrification by Electrosynthesis (C-STEEL) at Argonne National Laboratory, focusing on electrochemical and charge transport phenomena for energy technologies. His leadership encompasses DOE-supported facilities for battery performance evaluation and materials degradation analysis.
His research priorities include:
- Battery Technology (Li-ion and beyond-Li-ion systems like Mg2+ and Ca2+ batteries)
- Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) development and manufacturing
- Advanced materials characterization via synchrotron radiation, XRD, and impedance spectroscopy
- Electrochemical steel production processes for energy efficiency
Dr. Ingram directs three integrated laboratories: the Electrochemical Analysis and Diagnostic Laboratory (EADL), Materials and Chemistry Analysis Laboratory, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Laboratory. His C-STEEL initiative targets reducing U.S. manufacturing energy consumption (currently 5-6% from steel production) through electrochemical innovation under the DOE Energy Earthshot Initiative. Previously, he led the Science of Materials Complexity thrust at the Joint Center for Energy Storage Research (JCESR), investigating multivalent cation transport in solid-state materials for next-generation batteries.
