Brian H. Bond

Brian H. Bond is Professor of Sustainable Biomaterials and Associate Dean for Extension at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University's College of Natural Resources and Environment, where he directs leadership development initiatives and specializes in wood products sustainability. His work bridges academic research with industry applications through extension services.

His educational credentials include a Ph.D. (1998) and M.S. (1993) from Virginia Tech and a B.S. (1991) from Clemson University, establishing deep roots in forest products research.

Bond's research centers on wood drying technology, sustainable biomaterials, and performance optimization of wood products. He pioneered vacuum-drying applications for hardwoods and developed energy-efficient manufacturing protocols, with expertise spanning wood identification, flooring systems, and sawmill performance.
