Dr. Brian Granger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Performing Arts – Theatre Education at Ohio Wesleyan University. His work focuses on racial, gender, and class dynamics in theatre, particularly through the lens of North American ethnic playwrights and musical theatre.

Granger specializes in Africana musicals on Broadway and integrates scholarly analysis with creative practice as a playwright and director. His creative works include Deirdre (a cappella rock opera), Medicine Show (musical satire), Baby Wolf (urban Beowulf retelling), and Rebel Moon (urban Puerto Rican American narrative). He authored Parker, Lopez, and Stone's The Book of Mormon (Routledge, 2019), a critical analysis of the Broadway musical.
