Dr. Brian Gilchrist is an Assistant Professor at Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus within the School of Health Professions. He transitioned to the Division of Athletic Training, Health & Exercise Science in 2016 after serving in the LIU Masters of Public Health program. His academic credentials include a PhD in Behavioral & Community Health, an MPH in Public Health, and a BS in Biology.

His work spans three continents (Africa, Asia, Europe) and includes interventions targeting urban adolescents, homeless individuals, incarcerated men, and substance users.
His publications address dating violence prevention, predictors of non-physical dating violence victimization, and health career aspirations among minority populations. These studies often employ mixed-methods approaches and emphasize community engagement.
