Brian Gibbs is an Associate Professor of Music and Associate Director of Bands at Sam Houston State University's School of Music. He also serves as Director of The Bearkat Marching Band and conductor of the Symphonic Band, while teaching courses in music education. Previously, he taught at Texas Christian University and had an extensive career in Texas public schools across multiple districts.

- M.S. in Business and Human Relations from Amberton University
Research Interests focus on pedagogy for musical expression and the role of music education in adolescent moral development. He is active as a clinician and adjudicator, presenting at international band clinics and state music educators' conventions. His memberships span professional organizations including the Texas Bandmasters Association and World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles.
