Brian Boggs

Dr. Brian Boggs is an Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University's College of Education and Political Science Department. He serves as the Acting Associate Director of the Office of K-12 Outreach and is affiliated with MSU's Master’s in Public Policy program.

• Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Administration from MSU
• Bachelor’s in English and History
• Master’s in English Language and Literature
• Currently pursuing a law degree at Mitchel Hamline School of Law

His research focuses on educational politics, policy implementation, and urban school systems, particularly examining:

• Zero-tolerance discipline policies and their societal impacts
• Intersectionality of race and class in educational settings
• Historical context of urban education leadership
• Competing values in institutional decision-making

Recent publications analyze school accountability frameworks, disciplinary practices, and urban educational reform. He actively applies his expertise as an elected official in local government and draws from practical experience as a former high school teacher and central office administrator.
