Brian Bailey

Brian Bailey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of California, Davis. His research focuses on developing advanced 3D computational models and tools to understand plant structure-function interactions, radiative transfer, and environmental impacts on plant physiology. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah (2011–2015).

His work integrates novel experimental and modeling approaches, emphasizing high-performance computing and data-driven techniques. Key projects include the Helios 3D biophysical modeling framework and PhoTorch, a Python package for photosynthesis model fitting.
