Dr. Brian Bahder is an Associate Professor in Insect Vector Ecology at the University of Florida's Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center (FLREC). His research focuses on understanding insect vectors of plant pathogens, particularly phytoplasmas affecting palms. He leads the Bahder Lab, which integrates entomology and plant pathology to address both basic and applied aspects of palm disease management. His work includes developing diagnostic services for lethal bronzing and lethal yellowing diseases, optimizing antibiotic treatments, and studying vector ecology.
