Brian Adams

Brian Adams is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Akron College of Business. Holding a PhD from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, he has served as a Supervisory Research Economist at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (2019-2024) and as an Assistant Professor at California State University, East Bay (2013-2016). His research focuses on Industrial Organization, Urban Economics, and Price Measurement, with publications in journals such as the Journal of Housing Economics and American Economic Review: Insights.

Research Interests: His work examines market dynamics in retail pricing, housing inflation, and organizational structures. Recent studies analyze rent divergence in housing markets, quality-adjustment methods for price indexes, and employment impacts of industrial plants.
