Brett Karlan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Purdue University. His research bridges philosophy of science (with a focus on cognitive science and AI) and normative philosophy (epistemology, ethics, and philosophy of action).
- PhD in Philosophy from Princeton University
- Postdoctoral positions at Stanford University (McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society) and University of Pittsburgh (Department of History and Philosophy of Science)
Research interests include epistemology, ethics, philosophy of technology, and the ethical implications of AI. His work integrates philosophical inquiry with empirical studies in cognitive science and interdisciplinary collaborations.
