Brett DiBenedictis is a Senior Lecturer at Boston University, affiliated with the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences within the College of Arts & Sciences. His office is located at 64 Cummington Mall, Room 135. He holds a Ph.D. from Boston University.
Dr. DiBenedictis' research focuses on the neurobiology of social behavior, particularly the role of neuropeptides oxytocin and vasopressin in regulating neural pathways of innate social behavior in mice. His work employs advanced techniques such as chemogenetics, viral tract tracing, and calcium imaging. He also explores undergraduate science education, emphasizing active learning strategies and curriculum innovation.
His research spans topics including sex differences in social behavior modulation, neural circuit organization in olfactory systems, and microbial effects on neuroendocrine signaling. While his articles highlight contributions to neuroendocrinology and behavioral neuroscience, no scientific awards are listed here.
Dr. DiBenedictis teaches courses like PS/NE 333 (Drugs and Behavior), PS 231 (Physiological Psychology), and BI/NE 230 (Behavioral Endocrinology). His work bridges fundamental neuroscience with translational insights into neuropsychiatric disorders.
