Brent MacWilliams

Brent MacWilliams is a Tenured Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's College of Nursing. He holds a PhD in Education from Capella University (2010), MS in Nursing (2003) and BS in Nursing (1995) from UW Oshkosh. As an Adult Nurse Practitioner with palliative care specialization, his research examines gender dynamics in nursing.

His publications investigate male nursing faculty marginalization, gender-specific caregiving roles, and inclusive education practices. Leadership roles include serving as President of the American Association for Men in Nursing (2017-2019) and Foundation President (2019-present).

Awards include the Gene Tranbarger Writing Award (2019, 2014) and National Perinatal Research Award (2012). He secured $112,870 for implementing Typhon in nursing programs and participated in Robert Wood Johnson grant initiatives.
