معرفی
Brendan D. Manning is a Professor and Acting Chair in the Department of Molecular Metabolism at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and an Affiliate Member of the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School. He is also a faculty member at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.
Education: B.S. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (1993), Ph.D. from Yale University (2000). Postdoctoral training in Lewis Cantley’s lab at Harvard Medical School.
Research focuses on the molecular interface between cellular signaling and metabolic networks, particularly the PI3K-mTOR pathway. Key areas include cancer metabolism, diabetes, neurological disorders, and aging. His work elucidates how signaling pathways like mTORC1 and TSC regulate anabolic/catabolic balance in health and disease.
Notable Awards: Inaugural NCI Outstanding Investigator Award, Armen Tashjian Jr. Award for Excellence in Endocrine Research.
Grants and Funding: Multiple NIH grants, including R35CA197459 (Decoding PI3K-mTOR Signaling) and R01CA181390 (mTOR and Metabolic Control).
Lab: The Manning Lab investigates signaling networks in tumors and metabolic diseases, with a focus on TSC complex function and therapeutic targets in tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).
