Brenda Mutchler, EdD, MSN, RN, CNE, CNE-cl is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing at the University of West Florida. She teaches in the Traditional BSN and RN-BSN programs. With 25+ years of nursing experience across Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, and Hospice settings, her career transitioned into nursing education 9 years ago, focusing on Medical-Surgical, Community/Population, and Palliative Care instruction.
Education: Diploma in Nursing (Methodist College of Nursing), BS/MSN (Walden University), Doctorate in Education (Allen College). Her doctoral research explored barriers to integrating Palliative/End-of-Life care into nursing curricula and the challenges new graduates face in providing such care.
Professional Interests: Enhancing palliative care education, addressing gaps in end-of-life patient outcomes, and nursing confidence in compassionate care. Personal involvement includes cancer survivor advocacy through the CREW 309 wellness program.
