Branislav K. Nikolic is a Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Delaware (UD), where he has been a faculty member since 2002. He holds a B.S. from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and a Ph.D. from Stony Brook University.
His research focuses on theoretical and computational condensed matter physics, with expertise in nonequilibrium quantum many-body systems, quantum transport, spintronics, magnonics, and nanoelectronics. Notable areas include spin current dynamics in terahertz emitters, magnon transport in antiferromagnetic materials, and the interplay between electronic and magnetic phenomena in quantum materials. His work integrates high-performance computing and advanced theoretical frameworks like Schwinger-Keldysh field theory and density functional theory.
Nikolic's recent articles highlight advancements in understanding spintronic devices, topological materials, and quantum-classical transitions in magnetic systems. Collaborations with institutions like the UD Center for Hybrid, Active, and Responsive Materials (UD CHARM) and RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science (CEMS) further underscore his contributions to cutting-edge research in condensed matter physics.
