Branislav Jović is a Full Professor and Chair of Physical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Protection, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He has held academic positions at the university since 2010, progressing from Teaching Assistant to Full Professor in 2021.
His educational background includes:
- PhD in Chemistry (2011), Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad
- MSc in Chemistry (2007), Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad
- BSc in Chemistry (2000), Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad
Professor Jović's research focuses on Physical Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry, with specialized expertise in spectroscopic methodologies for analyzing molecular interactions and environmental systems. His work spans spectroscopic investigation of intermolecular forces, pollutant adsorption dynamics on sorbents, and soil characterization techniques, addressing critical environmental contamination challenges through fundamental chemical research.
Recent publications (2018-2019) demonstrate consistent application of FTIR spectroscopy across diverse environmental contexts: soil texture assessment, organic pollutant removal in water treatment systems, and molecular interaction studies in organic solvents. These works reveal an interdisciplinary approach bridging physical chemistry principles with practical environmental remediation applications.
Professor Jović has secured significant research funding including a national project on organic compound synthesis (Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia, 2011-2019) and international collaboration on water treatment technologies (BMBF-funded, 2011-2014). His academic role encompasses graduate student mentorship in physical and environmental chemistry despite no publicly listed advisees.
