Prof. Branislav Cvjetković is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka. His primary affiliations include the Department of Forest Genetics and Afforestation. He holds a doctorate and has been active in academic roles since at least 2010. His work focuses on forest genetics, afforestation strategies, and the conservation of endangered tree species like Picea omorika.
Research interests include: forest genetics resource management, climate change impacts on forest ecosystems, tree physiology under stress conditions, and sustainable afforestation practices. He has contributed to over 50 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work emphasizing drought resilience in seedlings, non-native tree species management, and genetic conservation.
Key projects include studies on Serbian spruce (Picea omorika) conservation, climate adaptation in forest plantations, and the use of innovative growing media for seedling production. He has coordinated international projects such as the PEN-CAFoRR initiative and contributed to EU-funded research on non-native tree species (e.g., COST Action CA21157).
Grants and collaborations involve national and international funding bodies, including the Ministry of Science of Republika Srpska and EU programs. His work integrates policy recommendations for forest management, emphasizing climate resilience and biodiversity preservation. He co-authored textbooks on forest afforestation and participates in editorial roles for scientific journals.
