Brandon Sargent serves as the Director of Biomedical Engineering and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Gonzaga University. He teaches courses such as Compliant Mechanisms (ENSC 485) and Machine Design (MENG 330), alongside past offerings like Design for the Human Body and Instrumentation Systems. His research focuses on biomechanics, compliant mechanisms, and the development of medical devices and surgical instrumentation.
- Education: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Brigham Young University, 2022), M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering (Brigham Young University, 2018), B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering (Utah State University, 2016).
As Director of Biomedical Engineering, he bridges interdisciplinary work between engineering and healthcare applications. His office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. during Spring 2025.
