Brandon Palmer is a Professor in the History Department at Coastal Carolina University, specializing in Asian and world history since 2007. He serves as Coordinator for SC History Day and teaches courses on Modern Korea, Modern Japan, and Military History.

Dr. Palmer's research focuses on Japan's colonial rule in Korea (1910-1945), Korean diaspora in America, and the Korean-American security alliance. His recent projects examine rural Korean modernization and gender dynamics in the 1970s-1980s, alongside Dokdo Isles' role in Korean national culture.
