Dr. Brandon Goodale is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at the University of Texas at Tyler, affiliated with the Literature And Languages Department in the College of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on Spanish Phonetics and Phonology, particularly in Southern Cone varieties of South America, with a secondary interest in L2 Spanish phonetics. He created the Voces de Uruguay Linguistic Corpus (VULC) during his 2022 Fulbright Fellowship in Uruguay.

His teaching portfolio includes courses in Spanish language, composition, and linguistics. Upcoming courses include ENGL 4376 Introduction to Linguistics and SPAN 4380 Topics in Spanish (Spanish for the Professions). He leads a 2026 Study Abroad trip to Peru and advises the UT Tyler Spanish Club.
His published work examines the impact of Spanish language houses on L2 phonology, with ongoing research on Uruguayan Spanish intonation patterns.
