Dr. Brad Smith serves as Dean of the Faculty of Sciences at Brigham Young University–Hawaii, effective August 16, 2025, having joined the faculty in 2013 and been promoted to full Professor in 2025. Previously, he led the biology program for seven years while teaching diverse biology and marine science courses.
His academic credentials include:
- Doctorate in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences (2012) from Texas A&M University, College Station
- Bachelor's Degree in Zoology (2003) from Texas A&M University, College Station
Smith's research centers on marine ecology, genetics, and conservation biology, with significant contributions to marine science and biological conservation.
