Brad Fain serves as Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Communications Policy (CACP) at Georgia Tech, housed within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts’ School of Public Policy. He is a Principal Research Scientist at Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) and leads initiatives in accessible design, aging-in-place technologies, and voting system accessibility. His work spans over 25 years, including pioneering the HomeLab research initiative and developing the Accessibility Assistant portal.
Research interests focus on human factors engineering, assistive technology, and universal design. Notable projects include the Integrated Blast Effects Sensor Suite for military health data collection, telehealth adaptations for mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and evaluating voting system accessibility for disabled populations. Fain has executed over 200 product evaluations and shaped policy through his National Council on Disability research on Section 508 compliance.
Key achievements include GTRI’s designation as the national test lab for the Arthritis Foundation’s Ease of Use Program (2004) and leadership in the EAC’s Military Heroes Initiative for secure voting technologies. His work bridges academia, policy, and industry to address accessibility challenges in healthcare, military, and public sectors.
