معرفی
Professor Boris Gudiksen is affiliated with the Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics at the University of Oslo. He earned his PhD from Stockholm University in 2004, transitioned from assistant professor (2007) to full professor (2018), and serves as the center’s Principal Investigator since 2017. His work focuses on developing advanced numerical methods and simulation codes like Bifrost to study solar phenomena.
- PhD: Stockholm University (2004)
- Assistant Professor: University of Oslo (2007)
- Professor: University of Oslo (2018–present)
Research Interests
Gudiksen’s research centers on understanding the Sun’s energetic processes through large-scale numerical simulations. Key areas include:
- Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) modeling of solar flares and coronal heating
- Wave activity in the quiet Sun
- Thermal conduction in solar atmosphere simulations
- Integration of particle acceleration models with MHD frameworks
- Development of exascale computing codes for multi-scale solar simulations
- Application of synthetic spectral diagnostics to validate simulations
Scientific Awards
- Naturvetar Prize for Best PhD Thesis in Sweden (2004)
Projects & Leadership
He leads the WholeSun project, focusing on exascale computing frameworks for solar simulations, and manages the Rosseland Centre for Solar Physics, a Norwegian Research Council-funded Center of Excellence.
