معرفی
Borbala Gerhat is an MSCA Fellow at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (IST Austria), supervised by Prof. Robert Seiringer. Her research focuses on functional analysis, operator theory, and spectral theory, with particular emphasis on non-self-adjoint operators, PDEs, and discrete Hardy-type inequalities. She has organized conferences such as 'Mathematical aspects of the physics with non-self-adjoint operators' (2026) and 'New challenges for Dirac operators' (2026).
- Education:
- PhD in Mathematics (2021), University of Bern, supervised by Prof. C. Tretter
- Master's in Technical Mathematics (2016), Vienna University of Technology
- Bachelor's in Technical Mathematics (2012), Vienna University of Technology
Her research interests span functional analysis, operator matrices, and spectral analysis of non-self-adjoint systems. Recent work includes studies on criticality transitions in discrete Laplacians, improved Rellich inequalities, and Schur complement dominance in operator matrices. Her articles often bridge spectral theory with applications in mathematical physics and PDEs.
- Teaching Experience:
- Calculus II (Czech Technical University, 2023)
- Advanced Analysis and Functional Analysis (University of Bern, 2017–2020)
She has given over 20 invited talks at institutions including Queen's University Belfast, Université Paul Sabatier, and Graz University of Technology, focusing on spectral theory and operator methods.
