Professor Bonnie Erickson is a faculty member at the University of Toronto's Downtown Toronto (St. George) campus, based at 17152 - 700 University Ave, 17th floor. She holds the academic rank of Professor and is actively available for supervising graduate students, with primary contact via bonnie.erickson@utoronto.ca.
Her research program centers on four interconnected pillars: (1) systemic inequalities of class, gender, and ethnicity; (2) the interaction dynamics between these inequalities; (3) their relationship to cultural production/consumption and social network structures; and (4) network-culture interdependencies across diverse demographic groups. A major current project investigates Toronto's three largest ethnic communities (White, Black, and Chinese), analyzing strong/weak ties within and between groups, their social origins, and impacts on cultural flows and occupational mobility. This work demonstrates her interdisciplinary integration of cultural sociology, network analysis, and stratification theory.
No scientific awards or honors are documented in the available materials. While Professor Erickson explicitly welcomes graduate student supervision, no specific advisees are listed.
