Bojan Mihaljevic

Bojan Mihaljevic is an Associate Professor at the Department of Artificial Intelligence, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His research focuses on graphical models, particularly Bayesian networks, and applied machine learning in neuroscience. He has authored nine top journal papers with an h-index of 10 and over 300 citations, and he actively contributes to software development.

He has developed the bnclassify R package for learning Bayesian network classifiers, which has been downloaded over 47,000 times. His teaching experience includes artificial intelligence, machine learning, and statistics courses at undergraduate and master’s levels in English and Spanish, with coordination of the Machine Learning and Advanced Statistics summer school since 2014.

Bojan combines academic work with industry expertise, including a year as a data science consultant in real estate appraisal and five years as a Java developer. His technical skills span R, Java, C++, Python, and Bash, alongside strong software engineering practices.
