Bodhi Simpson is an Assistant Professor in the Masters of Art in Counseling Program with an Emphasis in the Creative Arts at the University of Maine at Farmington. She holds a doctorate in philosophy and is a licensed clinical professional counselor in Maine, as well as a registered art therapist. With 20 years of experience, she specializes in art therapy, educating clinicians on integrating creative expression into clinical practice, and maintaining a private practice in central Maine.
Simpson earned her M.S. from Springfield College (2005) and B.S. from the University of Maine at Augusta (2002). She is a co-founder of Expressive Wellness Workshops, Trainings, & Retreats and Wisdom Journeys, LLC, and an award-winning visionary artist. Her authored and illustrated book, "The Girl Who Cried for the Earth: A Story of Hope, Healing & Possibilities," reflects her commitment to healing through creative expression.
Her professional activities include local and international workshop presentations, emphasizing the therapeutic value of art and creativity in mental health. She actively promotes interdisciplinary approaches to counseling, blending clinical expertise with expressive arts methodologies.
